In a letter sent to the U.S. Attorney General and DEA Administrator, twelve U.S. Senators are calling for cannabis to be fully legalized, denouncing the “devastating impact” and “out of step” policy of prohibition.

“While rescheduling to Schedule III would mark a significant step forward, it would not resolve the worst harms of the current system,” the senators said. “Thus, the DEA should deschedule marijuana altogether.”
