As marijuana stigma fades, 1 in 4 older Michiganders say they use pot

The University of Michigan’s National Poll on Healthy Aging, which surveys Americans 50 years old or older, focused on the use of cannabis products that contain the psychoactive compound THC. The survey found that Michigan residents over 50 use cannabis more than the rest of the country.

The results show that 27% of Michiganders aged 50 and older used a cannabis product in the past year, higher than the 21% of national respondents. Nearly 1 in 10 (9%) Michigan residents over the age of 50 reported using cannabis on a daily basis, compared to just 5% for the rest of the country.
